What Happens After The End Of The Beijing Olympics Closing Ceremony?
Do they party til morning in the stadium? And do the athletes leave the Olympic Village and fly back to their respective countries immediately the next day or they stay back in Beijing to tour the city? What’s in for them right after the conclusion of the Beijing Olympics?

This is a good question. I bet the news announcers will be talking about that today, at the closing. Follow up news on Monday may be showing the athletes celebrating too.
I’m sure they will be allowed to stay a couple more days, as they have been too busy practicing, and staying on their exercise routines for past two weeks, to enjoy their stay in China.
China needs them (or our government) to spend more money there too. Chinese officials won’t be chasing the athletes and news crews out, until they become a nuissance, or out of money.
This Olympics has been great, and has shown the world a “good side” of China.
Lets hope we all see that we can get more for the “buck” with trade and peaceful competition, than with bullets and theats of violence.
Besides, how can prices keep falling at WalMart, without cheap but well-made Chinese products? Now, their Gold Metal winners can have their faces all over the press, like American winners once dominated the scene.

Well I heard the english are partying, partly because they are (and we are) looking forward to 2012 olympics. I think its called the ‘olympics handover party’ which will probably go on for atleast the next 6 hrs or so since London’s the next destination!
The athletes, I guess are partly ‘individuals’ now. So some come back asap, some stay behind. I strongly believe the Olympic village shuts down like tomorrow morning (Chinese Time). They can stay in normal hotels.
Hop it helped! Thats what I gather.

Are you seriously asking us whether the athletes choose to tour Beijing or not, how would we know their individual plans?. They all go home and await the riotous receptions in their home countries, they’re all dying to get home, they don’t see it as a vacation opportunity lol.

Nothing, they are free to do as they please, although I think their stay in the Olympic Village has a certain date. So if their visas allowed them to stay longer then they can do so, but will have to find a hotel. Or maybe they can extend their stay in the Village for more $$$.

The Chinese government resumes their policies of exploiting child labor in factories, torturing Tibetan monks and censoring every other byte of internet traffic that crosses their border.
