Why Is Beijing Opera, Shadow Puppets And The Lantern Festival Important To China?

In China, the people are losing their interest in Beijing Opera, shadow puppets, and traditional holidays such as the Lantern Festival. I have been told that, if China wants to get rid of these things, then there is really no loss to China. What if China is happier without these things? Shouldn’t we just let it go and not fret over it? Or is it true that China will lose something important if they do? What, in fact, will they lose that is important if they just get rid of these things?

  1. I can’t agree with Captainvanadium more. What is life? Life is much more than just money, work and bars, it certainly has more. Beijing Opera, shadow puppets and the Lantern Festival, these are very cultural things with efforts to make your life more colorful. To keep these traditions and arts is to make our lives more meaningful. Why should we get rid of them?

  2. To answer your main question: why is Christmas, football, baseball, classical music and Thanksgiving important in Western culture?

  3. with 1.4 billion people there bound to be someone wont let go traditions.
