  1. few things you need to look at 1)what is the temputure like is it dry or damp? Laminate flooring is a mterial like cardboard and wt gets damp or wet it will swell. 2) wht type of laminate are yousing? does it say on the box what is it good forand what tempitres.
Besides all this laminate will work in your house. Good luck

No offense, but I find it Odd that the former name relates to a Plaid fabric.
Obviously at 20 ft. above sea level and with all the WATER local to you, you can assume humidity is an issue, on many levels.
Not knowing at all, what the structure is, or it’s construction, or at what level above ground you want to install the laminate, or how well sealed, heated, air conditioned the structure is, Laminate is usually sold, requiring an underlayment, though that isn’t a vapor barrier, and might actually add to your problems.
I’m not at all a fan of ANY laminate flooring, other than manufacturers can create beautiful effects in MILS thick. Actually I’m not a fan of wood floors, beyond they are trendy and I very much like WOOD in a general sense. I’d go with a Native Hard Wood, most able to withstand dozens of years in the wild, OR tile.

    Just my two “sense”

  3. humidity and moisture will lay your floor to waste.

  4. There is a test for moisture on the floor that you will install on. You will most likely need a moisture barrier and there is 1 for laminate flooring, plastic on 1 side and a thin foam on the face side. Laminate has to be stored in the room that your going to do lay ed flat for 24 to 48 hrs to get to temp of work area. Ideal temp to install is around 72, once installed temp has little to no bearing on the floor except expansion that is why you keep the flooring 1/4 inch away from walls and cap with quarter round
