Hey guys!!
I took the 2009-2010 SHSAT test. I was just wondering: when will they hand out the results to the students? I know that the school will receive the results on February 4th, but some people say that they will hand it out on February 8th. How is that possible though? Doesn’t the Board of Education give everyone a weekend to decide on what school they want to get into? Wouldn’t they give it on February 5th (Friday), so we all have a weekend to decide?
Also, I heard that the people who got into Stuyvesant will receive their results on February 4th. Is that true? (Everyone else would get it later on.)

First of all, this is what I THINK based on what I’ve been hearing. The results come to the school on February 4th, that’s confirmed by the Board of Ed. I think it’s up to the school on when they want to hand it out. I don’t think people who’ve gotten into Stuy get it on a different day than anyone else because many other people get it with the people who DO get into a Specialized High School. It’d be weird for a few thousand acceptance letters to be given out on one day, then perhaps twenty thousand rejected letters given out the next day. That’s not how it works. Everyone who took the test already put their school of choices in their application form, if we do get time to decide where we want to go, it probably is to just confirm the application form and choices. (Don’t forget that people who got into Stuy might have only gotten in because more people put Bronx as their first choice. So, someone who already gotten into Bronx as their first choice that has a high enough score for Stuy won’t be allowed into Stuy). Hope this helps. I put Stuy first and I’m hoping we get in.
